Requesting Letters of Support from NoCo Places

Our Policy

Mission Alignment

  • NoCo Places will issue letters of support only for projects that directly advance the NoCo Places Conservation and Recreation Vision and Colorado’s Outdoor Strategy
  • Projects must demonstrate alignment with one or more of NoCo Places’ strategic pillars: Accessibility, Stewardship, and Sustainability

Neutrality and Fairness

  • NoCo Places reserves the right to decline requests that conflict with organizational priorities, duplicate ongoing efforts, or create real or perceived bias among partner agencies
  • Letters will not be issued in support of commercial or for-profit ventures unless the applicant demonstrates significant and measurable public benefit

Approval Authority

  • The Executive Director, in consultation with the Executive Committee, shall review all requests and determine approval or denial
  • In urgent circumstances, the Executive Director may provisionally approve a request, subject to Executive Committee ratification

Guiding Principles

  • Transparency: Requests are evaluated using consistent criteria
  • Equity: Priority consideration is given to projects advancing equity, inclusion, and access in outdoor recreation and conservation
  • Regional Impact: Preference is given to projects with broad, demonstrable benefits to Northern Colorado communities and landscapes
  • Partnership Building: Letters of support are intended to strengthen collaboration and advance collective stewardship goals

Procedure

Submission Requirements

  • Requests for letters of support must be submitted no less than three (3) weeks prior to the required deadline
  • All requests must be submitted using the official NoCo Places Letter of Support Request Form below

Submit Your Request

Please explain how the project aligns with NoCo Places’ mission and strategic pillars.
Description of community benefit and anticipated regional impact.
Identification of additional (or potential) partners and stakeholders involved.
State the date you require the letter, and any specific format requirements.
